This can be done by using our online library catalog, which can be accessed by clicking here.  Once you have found the item you would like to request, click on it to bring up the information page for that specific item.  On the right hand side will be a button called "Place Request".  This will take you to a page where you will be required to log-in to your patron account.  Your username is the barcode number on the back of your library card and the password is the last 4 digits of your phone number.  Once you are logged in you will have the option to choose at which library you would like to pick up the item.  Finally, click on the "Submit request" button.   Once your item is ready for pick up, you will be notified.  Please note:  Only residents with a current Lenawee District Library library card will be able to place requests online.

What if I change my mind?  Can I cancel this request online?

Yes.  By logging in to your patron account here or by our "Patron Account" tab on our homepage.  Once you are logged in there will be a menu on the left-hand side.  Under this menu will be a link called "Requests".  Please note: Only requests that are still marked as ACTIVE can be cancelled.  If an item has a status of "Shipped" or "Held", you must call the holding library and inform the librarian that you no longer need the item.

What if the library doesn't own the item I am looking for?

If the item you are looking for isn't in our local system (owned by any of our branches) you can search for it using the MelCat Interloan System.  This allows patrons to borrow items from libraries throughout Michigan.  You can visit the MEL site by clicking HERE.  Or you can suggest a title to our library by filling out the form found HERE.  Of course, you can always make your request in person at any of our library branches.
