On the heels of Black History Month, we will be highlighting and celebrating African American authors, poets, historians, song-writers and more!

At the top of the hour, listen to a read-aloud by a featured reader, then spend the blocks of free time reading selected works, enjoying book tastings, & conversing with other participants.

There will also be quick writing and art activies available.

Do you have a favorite poem or piece of writing by a black author? Bring it to share!

Stop by and listen to these engaging readers share the pieces they love!

The National African American Read-In is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in literature. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
